In recent years, enthusiastic volunteers have created an extensive ATV trail network throughout the Moosehead Lake area. On the west side of the lake, trails link the town of Greenville to The Forks, Rockwood, Pittston Farm, and Jackman. To the east, you may ride from Greenville up to Kokadjo and beyond into the fabled 100-mile wilderness. Greenville is truly an “ATV-friendly” town.
June-November
Moosehead Lake is an ideal destination for pontoon boating. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, the lake offers a serene setting for leisurely cruises. Whether you're fishing, enjoying a family outing, or a romantic sunset cruise, the clear waters and picturesque surroundings make pontoon boating on Moosehead Lake a delightful experience, providing a perfect opportunity to connect with nature.
May to October
Paddle secret ponds and rivers with a Maine Guide who knows where the fish and moose are! Or, motor around the big lake in search of the same. Whether you are new to fishing or a seasoned veteran, you’ll experience the thrill of being out in the wilderness pursuing brook trout, lake trout, salmon, small-mouth bass, and muskie.
While touring the waters you will also be on the lookout for moose, deer, loon, beaver, and other native species.
Contrary to popular belief, Ice Fishing is not just for “rednecks!” This sport is becoming quite popular with families, couples, and groups of friends visiting the Moosehead area. A Registered Maine Guide will keep you warm in a heated shelter on the ice, cook your meals– even clean your fish for you! All gear and food is provided. While ice fishing you can cross country ski, snowshoe a remote undeveloped island, snowmobile, or just relax.
June- September
Kayaks are available for your use onsite at our cabins during the season.
Or, for a great “get away to the wilderness” feeling, spend a day paddling the West Outlet to the Kennebec River.
This river runs from Moosehead Lake to Indian Pond, and is filled with wildlife and beautiful scenery along the way.
Year Round
From your cabin, you can step right out onto 50+ acres of woods and nature trails at our home base on Moosehead Lake. The terrain varies from deep woods with meandering streams, to lush raspberry and wildflower fields, to glades with unbeatable views of the lake and mountains. You will see moose prints along the way, and if you are lucky you’ll catch the moose himself taking a drink from the stream. Our trails are perfect for light hiking and snowshoeing.
This is a truly unique and unforgettable experience for all ages.
Take a guided tour to the B-52 Site on Elephant Mountain, a somber memorial of the crash of a B-52 bomber doing training maneuvers in January of 1963. All but two crew members perished, and those two spent the night in a blizzard on this remote mountain—suffering temperatures dipping to -28 degrees Fahrenheit and five feet of snow—before they were rescued.
